DICENTIS Participant App
for Android devices offers the flexibility to use tablets with various screen sizes
Solution delivers visual meeting content and control to Android tablets for a more efficient meeting experience
The DICENTIS ecosystem has been further enhanced with the release of the DICENTIS Participant App for Android. The new solution extends the feature set of the stationary DICENTIS conference participant devices by linking them with standard, off-the-shelf Android tablets running the new Participant Application.
The importance of visual content in meetings cannot be underestimated, making screen size a critical factor. With participants also increasingly bringing their own devices into the meeting, the DICENTIS Participant App becomes an invaluable solution.
The DICENTIS Participant App has been created to build on the capabilities of the DICENTIS conference platform while also adding in maximum flexibility for users. It enriches the meeting experience for participants with additional control, meeting data and multimedia content delivered via an Android device, such as a tablet. This gives users the ability to request to speak, cast votes and view meeting information such as agenda points and links to documents all via an off-the-shelf Android device which is linked with the Conference microphone in the meeting room.
Flexible by design
The DICENTIS Participant App has been designed with flexibility at its heart. It is a native app which can run on standard off-the-shelf Android devices with the screen size of choice. When in use, the Android device can be linked with a DICENTIS Conference device to act as a single participant position. Devices are one time registered by a technician for security purposes. During the meeting participants can easily log-in as configured and are automatically linked with their conference device.
The app can run on standard, off-the-shelf Android devices. This includes Android boxes that can be connected to any type of touchscreen, such as third party motorized screens, which provides further flexibility for systems integrators to create customized setups and users retrofitting equipment into an existing AV environment.
As a second point of control, the DICENTIS Participant App delivers redundancy to critical features. It allows users to request to speak and cast votes, meaning that controlling these functions works either via hardware control or the app. Equally important for IT professionals is the ease of managing the solution, with factors including periodic device replacement and Android security updates.
Building on this, the DICENTIS Participant App adds a layer of futureproofing. The initial release is for Android devices, but will be followed with an iPadOS version in the future to maximize freedom of choice
Customer-centric tool
The DICENTIS Participant App is enabled in two main ways to suit the requirements of end customers. For DICENTIS systems with Perpetual licenses the app will be an add-on license per participant. For DICENTIS systems with the Professional license plan the Participant Application is included as standard for extra value-add. This plan also includes an ongoing software maintenance agreement to ensure optimized performance, security, and reliability. The Professional license plan provides users with the greatest flexibility and requires lower initial investment, making it a future-proof investment based on transparent and predictable annual costs with the possibility to expand with add-on services like DICENTIS Hybrid meetings.
“The DICENTIS Participant App is the latest example of how we are listening to our customers and giving them the tools they need for the modern meeting environment,” said Lars van den Heuvel, Director Global Product Management Conference Systems at Bosch Security Systems. “By delivering the capabilities of our Multimedia device to a wider range of screens and system designs, we have given DICENTIS users the perfect combination of functionality and flexibility. I am certain that this new app will be well-received by our global userbase and prove to be a vital tool as we help users move to a modern meeting environment.”
