Bosch's mobile access control provides an even higher level of security than most physical access cards, ensuring that only individuals with valid mobile credentials can access designated areas in a building. Additionally, it offers an economical way to enhance security using a smartphone's pin code or biometric options, such as face recognition or fingerprints, enabling two-factor authentication.

Credentials can be efficiently managed through the visitor or access management system. All sensitive information is securely stored within the access control system on site. The biometric data used for two-factor authentication is kept on the end user's mobile device, rather than in the access management database or reader, hence guaranteeing the user’s data privacy protection.

Authorization and credentials are conveniently sent via e-mail. Once a profile is set up, for instance for a regular visitor like a contracted technician, it can be easily reused any time the technician needs to come for maintenance. The access rights of external staff usually require more handling because of the frequent changes in personnel and assignments. Authorization profiles can easily be added and changed via Credential Management, where they are classified as a separate employee group. Sometimes it is difficult for a person with a disability to open a door protected by access control. The reader might be hard to reach with an access card when you are sitting in a wheelchair. When using Mobile Access there is no need to place the smartphone in close proximity to a card reader. Users can even leave the phone in their pocket or bag. The smartphone can connect with the reader over longer distances. This not only helps getting the door unlocked, but it also saves time to actually go through the door in the short time that the door is opened.

The reading range of the access control readers can be tailored to suit various scenarios, such as accessing a parking garage without leaving your car or without taking your smartphone out of your bag. The Bosch Mobile Access app can run in the background, so you do not need to open the app in order to get access.

Mobile access control is able to use advanced security features such as two-factor authentication, which can be enabled by using the smartphone's pin code or biometric possibilities such as face or fingerprint recognition. If two-factor authentication is activated for a reader, the user must open the app and then activate the personal second factor as configured on the phone to connect to the access control reader.
