Mike Oskamp, from elakustik, a Congress Rental Network member, explains how he set up a hybrid meeting that took place end of 2021 in one of our Bosch facilities in Schwieberdingen, Germany. A DICENTIS Conference System was at the core of the installation which had to facilitate a remote hub with 28 interpreter desks. All devices were connected via the Remote System Interpretation (RSI) platform. Emotions were transmitted over Avonic tracking cams, and audio signals were streamed over a Dante network.

With important issues on the agenda, simultaneous interpretation between 12 languages for all 1,300 attendants was a key to success during the five-day event. Responding to the requirements for each of the four different meeting rooms, the experts deployed a total of 31 DICENTIS Discussion devices with touchscreen, 36 DICENTIS Wireless discussion devices with touchscreen and 33 DCN Conference devices with language selector. For the language interpreters provided by the government institution, 56 DCN Interpreter desks offered a familiar technology platform.

Held at the Exhibition and Convention Center (CEC), the three-day conference tackled issues such as the Agenda 2030 goal of ending hunger and extreme poverty around the world. Hosted by the President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, the conference attracted more than 3,000 participants. Their collective goal: adopt a landmark road map towards sustainable development for all countries.

Congress Rental Network Partner, Smart Choice Audiovisuais, has installed a large DICENTIS conferencing and interpretation system at Centro Cultural de Belém, the Portuguese EU Presidency Headquarters in Lisbon. A total of 70 DICENTIS and 50 DICENTIS Wireless Discussion devices with touchscreens provide the main input. The solution can be used to deliver in-person meetings at the venue, as well as remote and hybrid meetings to overcome the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The core of the discussion and interpretation system is identical across all three of the rooms – the main plenary hall, a smaller meeting room and a press room – only varying in the number of discussion devices.

Few recent events have proved as newsworthy as the 2018 Brussels NATO summit, where Presidents and Prime Ministers gathered at the Brussels Art & History Museum for dinner and debate. But none of the headlines captured the extraordinary work that took place behind the scenes. In just two weeks, leading events agency DDMC transformed the museum into one of the world’s most spectacular temporary conferencing venues while working with highly respected supplier Jacot Audiovisueel to create a user friendly, reliable and completely secure conferencing environment. Helping them to do so was the DICENTIS Conference System.

A DICENTIS conference system from Bosch played a key role to ensure a structured meeting and making the EU Western Balkans summit a successful event. Two DICENTIS multimedia devices, 40 DICENTIS discussion devices and 18 interpreter desks from Bosch were deployed at the summit, along with six Avonic CM73 and two CM20 cameras for split view plus other peripheral equipment. The in-person summit was held in October 2021 in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia. The leaders of the EU member states met in person with the six Western Balkans partners. Slovenia took over presidency of the Council of the European Union in July 2021 and hosted this get-together, marking the highlight of their presidency. Local AV solutions company and Bosch partner Robotrade, a member of the Congress Rental Network (CRN), was commissioned with the technical execution of the two-day summit.

The officials of the G7 Leaders’ Summit and the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Romania at the end of 2022 both relied on DICENTIS from Bosch to provide clear communications in multiple languages. The meetings both had a requirement for ISO 20109 equipment to ensure seamless and reliable operation. Taking place every four years, the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference (PP) provides the opportunity for the organization’s highest policy-making body to set the Union’s general policies, adopt the four-year strategic and financial plans, and elect the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board. The most recent event, PP-22, took place in Bucharest and was the largest to be held in Europe.

Hosting the UCI Road World Championships – an eight-day celebration of cycling – requires a high level of co-ordination and planning. Ahead of the championships in the city of Wollongong, Australia, the event organizing committee called on the skill set of Congress Australia to ensure the smooth delivery of the UCI Congress. When it came to the conference solution, the DICENTIS conference system by Bosch turned out to be the best solution for the event.

The presidency of the European Union rotates amongst member states every six months. In the second half of 2022, the Czech Government took on this responsibility and relied on Bosch conferencing and interpretation equipment due to its reliability and functionality to ensure that all 212 events that took place across the country during its presidency went on smoothly.
