Advanced call management for the PRAESENSA Public Address and Voice Evacuation System

Introducing PRAESENSA software release V2.10 along with new software license for call recording and forwarding

Bosch Building Technologies is pleased to announce the latest software V2.10 for the IP based PRAESENSA public address system. The free software and firmware update is particularly crucial for those opting for the new software license PRA-LSCRF for call recording and forwarding, which adds advanced call management capabilities to PRAESENSA.

Call stacking

The PRA-LSCRF software license can be installed on the PRAESENSA system controller to allow for the stacking and time-shifting of calls within the PRAESENSA system.

Call stacking always records calls and provides automatic playback to previously occupied zones, ensuring that no information gets lost. The playback of a call can start while the message is still being recorded. The PRA-LSCRF License supports the recording and forwarding of up to eight calls simultaneously, with a storage capacity of up to thirty minutes of live speech.

Time-shifting calls prevent unpleasant audio feedback noise when the call station and the loudspeakers are located in the same zone. Time-shifting also makes it possible to avoid wrong or misspoken calls. After the call has ended, a user has two seconds to cancel the broadcast of the call before it is sent out to the audience. The PRA-LSCRF license adds another layer of reliability and flexibility to paging, which is particularly useful in high-pressure environments such as airports.

Configuration update for DNV-GL Type Approval

Cruise ship

Also implemented in the PRAESENSA 2.10 release is a new configuration item in the system settings which is mandatory for DNV-GL Type Approval in Maritime applications. A new check box is now available to disable the emergency control from the Open Interface client. When enabled, this option prevents the Open Interface client from triggering emergency calls and acknowledging and resetting the emergency state.

With PRAESENSA, the standard in IP-based Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA) systems, we provide a PAVA solution offering unmatched quality, longevity, security, and reliability. Users can download the new release for free, and Bosch will continue to provide regular updates, upgrades, and new product introductions throughout the system's lifetime to keep it up-to-date, future-proof and state-of-the-art. PRAESENSA is released in several phases to address the needs of various verticals and country requirements. Consult with your local Bosch representative for more information.
