The China National Library project is a monumental initiative focused on cultural security and the rejuvenation of Chinese heritage. Central to the project is the Xi'an National Edition Museum in Sanqin, with architecture inspired by the Han and Tang dynasties. Spanning a surface of 82,500 square meters, the museum required a complete security and communication solution to protect its extensive collection. The system needed to be efficient to manage and should facilitate collaboration among the museum staff.
Clear communication throughout library’s huge outdoor space
The architectural of Xi'an National Edition Museum combines ancient and modern styles, with a symmetrical layout and staggered gardens. The outdoor layout presented a unique challenge in ensuring clear, stable audio transmission across vast spaces. Using the advanced OMNEO media network and PRAESENSA IP Public Address System from Bosch, the museum now benefits from comprehensive broadcasting capabilities. PRAESENSA’s all-IP architecture offers exceptional adaptability, allowing easy adjustments to partitioned spaces and immediate response to environmental changes.
To further enhance stability, the system includes speaker line end detection (EOL) via pilot tone technology. It monitors speaker status in real time without additional wiring. The LB1 all-weather speakers, rated IP65, withstand various weather conditions. They deliver high-quality, low-latency audio across the museum grounds for:
- routine announcements
- background music
- emergency broadcasts
New intrusion alarm system safeguards cultural treasures
With over 2,300 cultural artifacts on display across two major exhibition areas totaling more than 2,800 square meters, the Xi'an National Edition Museum needed a highly sensitive and flexible alarm system. TriTech detectors were selected to meet these demands.

TriTech detectors combine passive infrared and microwave Doppler radar technologies with advanced proprietary analysis tools. With a 360-degree detection range, the DS9370 detectors provide extensive coverage for the museum’s vast exhibition halls, enhancing protection for valuable exhibits.

The award-winning DICENTIS Wireless Conference System with a 4.3-inch touchscreen were chosen for the museum’s conference rooms. Utilizing standard Wi-Fi and equipped with intelligent channel management, DICENTIS supports reliable, uninterrupted meetings without the need for additional software or hardware installations. Customizable interface options, including speaker lists and voting features, make it ideal for high-stakes gatherings.
